🛫 Boston Opens Remote Terminal for Select Airline Passengers

Have you ever caught yourself standing in line to check your luggage or get through security at an airport and thought to yourself, “There’s got to be a better way!”?

Well, if an experiment in Massachusetts works out, perhaps there will be another option proliferating across airline travel in the future.

Boston Logan International Airport just opened a three-month pilot program for a remote terminal in Framingham.

It’s the first time a TSA screening shuttle will originate at a non-airport facility.

It’s open to Delta and JetBlue passengers on flights departing from 5:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are $9 each way (free for kids).

You clear TSA in Framingham (rather than battling long lines at the airport). You also check your bags there. Then you catch a bus and get dropped off near your gate at Logan.

The distance: about 22 miles (or a bus ride of 30 minutes+). It’s recommended to arrive three hours early for domestic flights.

For now, that doesn’t sound more efficient. The jury is out on whether it’s less stressful (less crowded?). But it’s an interesting development. And perhaps it will open a new avenue within air travel in the future.
