🚨 Avoid These Passport Issues When Traveling Internationally
The school year is ending across the country. Summer is on the horizon. With that, peak international travel season is upon us.
Many of us are digging out our passports and heading to an airport.
But sometimes passport mistakes complicate a trip. Yahoo! recently talked to five international travel experts to compile a list of the most common passport mistakes to avoid, which we’ve summarized here.
Traveling with an expired (or nearly expired) passport. Countries require three to six months of passport validity after your departure date. So even if your passport isn’t expired yet at the start of your trip, it may not be valid.
Name change issues. Small differences between the name on your passport and the name on your booking can cause problems. Changed your last name after getting married? Made a typo on your booking? It could cause an issue. Your passport also needs to match the information on your TSA PreCheck, Global Entry or Clear+ registration.
Failing to check entry requirements. Sometimes a passport isn’t enough. Some destinations require visas or travel authorizations.
Overlooking passport requirements for kids. Kids younger than 16 get passports that are only valid for five years. And there’s no renewal process, so if they expire, you have to apply for a new passport. Traveling out of the country with one but not both parents may lead to getting asked for a notarized letter of consent.
Not enough blank pages left. Salute to you, frequent traveler!
Passport damage. Yahoo! cited a Canadian woman denied entry into Costa Rica because of minor passport damage from a teething puppy.

✈ 3: Delta miles you can now earn for every $1 you spend on Airbnb Experiences (think local tours and vacation activities) and Airbnb Services (things like private chefs, massages or photographers). That’s three times the previous partnership (1 SkyMile per $1 spent on Airbnb reservations), which still exists.
