🛻 Jeff Bezos-Backed Electric Truck Comes Out of Stealth Mode
Did you know that Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is backing an electric truck designed to take market share from Telsa and Elon Musk?
Not many people did.
Slate Auto recently emerged from stealth mode to unveil a countercultural vehicle of sorts.
It should cost less than $20,000 after tax credits when it debuts (supposedly toward the end of 2026). That’s about one-third the price of a Cybertruck and much cheaper than the cheapest vehicle in Tesla’s fleet. It’s also cheaper than any EV in the U.S. (and cheaper than most gas vehicles).
The two-seater base model truck with 150 miles of range features old-school knobs instead of an electric display and manual wind-up (hand-cranked) windows. It’s also customizable.
The competition among EV companies continues to get more intense, which should be good for customers.
