🇺🇸 U.S. Passport Strength No Longer Top 10

The United States no longer is one of the 10 “most powerful” passports in the world, as judged by the number of countries we can visit without a prior visa.

Not to fret: This year, the “Top 10” cutoff is 182 countries, two more than the famous U.S. blue passport can access.

Singapore (193), South Korea (190) and Japan (189) top the list in sole possession of first, second and third place. A handful of European countries are tied for fourth at 188 and another seven tied for fifth at 187, many in extremely close proximity to one another.

If you feel restricted, it could be worse. Afghanistan (24), Syria (26) and Iraq (29) reside at the bottom of the list, able to visit fewer than 30 other countries visa-free.

Also, Clark turns to your retirement plan. With new IRS tax brackets on the way, he breaks down why Roth 401(k)s make more sense than ever for most savers — and the rare cases when a traditional 401(k) might still win.
