According to Freddie Mac, 30-year mortgage rates are 6.78% and 15-year rates are 6.07% as of July 25, 2024. The following chart shows the 30-year mortgage rate trend over the last year.

🏅 The Paris Olympics Are (Relatively) Cheap

The Paris Olympics held its opening ceremony Friday as about 10,500 athletes floated down the Seine River.

But the Games started last Wednesday. Athletes have populated the $1.85 billion Olympic village for quite a few days.

If that price tag catches your eye, you may be interested to know that Paris did a relatively good job of keeping costs down.

We’re not sure that the price tag is exactly Clark-approved, though, at $8.7 billion, the cheapest summer Olympics since 2008. That excludes infrastructure spending (construction on roads, rails, hotels and airports).

Here are the top 5 most expensive Olympic Games (Paris is sixth):

1. Sochi 2014: $28.9 billion
2. Rio 2016: $23.6 billion
3. London 2012: $16.8 billion
4. Tokyo 2020: $13.7 billion
5. Barcelona 1992: $11.6 billion
