☕️ Starbucks Cracks Down on Non-Customers

For nearly seven years, Starbucks allowed you to sit inside its locations whether or not you made a purchase.

Facing falling sales and less foot traffic, the behemoth corporation is changing its policies under new Starbucks CEO Brian Niccol.

According to an exclusive Wall Street Journal report, Starbucks will add code-of-conduct signs at more than 11,0000 North American stores. Baristas will ask you to leave if you aren’t complying.

In addition to being asked to leave if you don’t make a purchase (or accompany someone who makes a purchase), the signs will reinforce that Starbucks doesn’t allow the following:

  • Harassment

  • Violence

  • Threatening language

  • Outside alcohol

  • Smoking

  • Panhandling

Starbucks will now offer free refills on hot and iced coffee in addition to free water for customers and those accompanying them.

Starbucks also is restoring its condiment bars, which it removed during the COVID-19 pandemic. Niccol, the new CEO, also promised to bring back ceramic mugs and plates as well as comfortable furniture.
