Android mobile device users from Nov. 12, 2017, to present are potentially eligible for a piece of a $135 million class-action settlement.
Google’s operating system allegedly caused mobile devices to send data continuously without permission. And it happened even when devices weren’t in use and all apps were closed, eating into people’s data plans.
“Google effectively forces these users to subsidize its surveillance by secretly programming Android devices to constantly transmit user information to Google in real time,” the lawsuit alleged.

All qualifying Android users who don’t opt out will receive a payment. You should get a personalized notice in the mail or by email. But you must enter your preferred method of payment at the settlement website.
