Clark often talks of alternative paths to college (think trade school) – or at least cheaper ways to get college degrees (two years at community college, for example).
The cost-benefit analysis of paying for higher education can be a real challenge. You’re taking calculated risks based on what you know about the student’s eventual career path.
However, a new net worth study released by the Federal Reserve scores a big point for college grads. Those with college degrees now hold 73% of the nation’s wealth, up from about 50% in 1989.
In addition, life expectancy fell across the board in recent years. But life expectancy for those without a bachelor’s degree dropped from about 78 to 74.8 years old vs. about 84 to 83.3 years old with one.
