🏅 How To Meet Your Retirement Age Goal
Answer this question: Are you on track to retire when you want to?
If you said “yes,” you’re in the minority of Americans. About 75% of Americans say they’re not on track, Clark says. Many people know when they want to retire but don’t know what it will take.
“It’s kind of like if you tried to drive somewhere and you hadn’t been there before and you don’t put in the destination in the GPS on your phone,” Clark says.
“You’re just gonna go in circles, right? You’ve got no plan.”
No matter how you answered our question, a Google search will uncover predictive retirement tools.
“Tools that will say, ‘You’ve got this much. You’re this old. You want to retire at that point. This is how much you have to save every month to get there so many years down the road.’
“It’s hard to do. Because you may not want to see the answer. But [make a plan] if you don’t want to be way down the road and say, ‘I owe, I owe, I owe, so off to work I go.'”
