👑 Robbers Execute $100 Million Heist at The Louvre

It may or may not join the others in the pantheon of blockbuster heist movies. But a group pulled off a daring robbery at the world’s most visited museum in Paris on Sunday.

Disguised as construction workers, the group parked outside the museum and used a truck-mounted basket lift or extendable ladder to cut through the windows with an angle grinder and access the Apollo Gallery, “one of the most ornate rooms” in the Louvre.

Approximately four people then stole $102 million worth of French Crown jewels from the Napoleonic era.

Targeting two high-security display cases, the thieves grabbed multiple items and then sped away on motorcycles within seven minutes.

They threatened security with the angle grinders and attempted to set fire to equipment they used.

The heist took place around 9:30 a.m. local time with the museum open and patrons inside.

So far, the heist members haven’t been caught, though the museum reopened yesterday.
