💵 The State of the Union: Fast Food Version
QSR Magazine released its annual report recently, dropping a treasure trove of data regarding the business of fast food.
Although he’s more careful with what he eats now as he manages his health, Clark has been a fast food lover for decades.
We know the 10 fastest-growing franchises in the United States based on the report, which detailed net stores added:
Starbucks: 589
Krispy Krunchy Chicken: 325
Jersey Mike’s: 313
Wingstop: 278
Chipotle: 273
Taco Bell: 199
Dunkin’: 188
Domino’s: 160
Dutch Bros: 151
Chick-fil-A: 145
Subway (-631), KFC (-122) and Hardee’s (-110) were the only national chains to contract by triple-digit stores.
Chicken is wildly popular in America right now. Chick-fil-A still leads the fast food industry in generating an average of $7.5 million per location. Raising Cane’s, another chicken fast food franchise with a cult-like following, is next at $6.6 million. (Compare that to less than $500,000 at the average Subway location.)
