🧳 Helpful To-Do List for Non-Luggage Travel Items
Whether you’re taking advantage of shoulder-season deals or looking ahead to holiday travel, chances are your next trip is in the back of your mind.
Many of us make lists when packing our suitcase, whether physical or mental (“OK, socks, underwear, toiletries … wait, shoes!”). But what about a list for things other than our luggage?
Travel + Leisure recently released a 15-point checklist that may be helpful:
Make copies (digital photos) of your passport. (Clark recommends this as well.)
Take photos of your luggage.
Alert your credit card company. (Especially for international trips.)
Contact your cell phone company.
Notify your home security system operator.
Confirm all reservations.
Make advance payments on bills that have due dates during your trip.
Check the weather.
Eat, throw out or give away perishable food.
Leave an itinerary with a friend or family member.
Clean out your wallet. (Leave only items necessary for your trip.)
Place a hold on your mail delivery. (Or arrange for a neighbor or friend to collect it.)
Bring in outdoor furniture. (Or any items that may be easy to steal.)
Confirm arrangements for pets and houseplants.
Download offline entertainment.
