đ Samâs Club Cloning Parts of Costco
If you love Costco like Clark does, chances are youâre loving certain elements of Samâs Club these days as well.
Costco and Samâs Club are both renowned as warehouse membership clubs with good deals, especially on buying in bulk.
Samâs Club scores points over Costco in the areas of membership cost (slightly cheaper) and convenience (curbside pickup).
Samâs Club has been focused on improving its in-house Memberâs Mark brand to better compete with Costcoâs Kirkland Signature. Samâs Club CEO Chris Nicholas even complimented Costco on the brand in 2024.
Now Samâs Club is trying to replicate some elements of the famous Costco food court. No, you canât get a $1.50 hot dog and soda from the Walmart offshoot.
But Costco recently added a salted caramel brownie sundae (soft-serve vanilla ice cream with brownie bits and caramel sauce). Itâs popular. And what do you know, Samâs Club just added a âJingle Cookie Crunch Sundaeâ (soft-serve vanilla ice cream with chocolate cookie crumbles and Memberâs Mark mini candy cookies).
Samâs Club undercut Costcoâs version on price, $1.58 to $2.99.
Unlike Costco, Samâs Club also allows anyone, not just members, to eat in its food court.
One isnât necessarily better than the other. But itâs interesting to see Samâs Club replicating some of Costcoâs strengths.
