Message from Clark on September 11
It’s 9/11. This day 23 years ago shook our nation to its very foundations. We as Americans did not roll over for the terrorists. If you go by the Pentagon, you would never know about the attack that day because we rebuilt and rebuilt stronger. If you ever get a chance to go to Freedom Tower, you will see first that we have the privilege of going to the memorial to remember the people who died that day in New York. But also, as a symbol of rebirth. We did not allow our nation’s financial sector to be destroyed. We rebuilt and we rebuilt better. We have to stand up to evil. We did that day. We did after. I am proud of the way our country responded that day. This isn’t just a day that we acknowledge. It’s a day that means so much to me, and that’s why.

💈 Haircuts Now Cost Otherworldly Amounts If You Let Them
Clark talks often about how much money he spends on his haircuts (less than $30 including tip, even after a podcast listener encouraged him to tip a little more).

If you’re a penny-watcher like Clark, last week’s Wall Street Journal headline may cause you to clutch at your chest from anxiety. “The New Normal: Spending $400 at the Hair Salon,” it read.
The gap between quick-and-efficient, the hair version of a Jiffy Lube for oil changes, and bespoke “salon” service is huge.
CPI data shows the price of personal care including haircuts rose more than 27% in the last five years. The WSJ cited a very specific hair treatment with data from a booking platform in New York that has risen 72% in the last three years.
“In big cities like New York, Los Angeles and Chicago, owners and customers say it’s no longer unusual for a cut and color to exceed $500 – a price once paid only by the biggest spenders,” the WSJ wrote of high-end salon prices.
Let’s say you get six haircuts and treatments a year. The difference between a $25 haircut and a $250 service is $1,350 annually.
