Want to start an argument at your next gathering? No, you donât need to bring up the presidential election, religion or your favorite SEC football team.
Just make a declarative statement about exactly how much everyone should tip.
Weâve all been handed too many tablets with prepopulated tip options for services we never wouldâve considered tipping for just five years ago.
Sometimes, though, it helps to get an expertâs opinion on the appropriate tip percentage.
Diane Gottsman, national etiquette expert and founder of The Protocol School of Texas, told The Hustle that tipping should be discretionary. She sees it as an opportunity to say thank you to someone for service, although sometimes she thinks itâs OK not to tip.
