😠 The Most Annoying Workplace Behaviors
Remote work robs employees and companies of serendipitous in-person collaboration.
While face-to-face interaction can be valuable, there’s also a downside. Some people can be, well, annoying.
Kickresume surveyed nearly 3,000 employees about workplace behavior from colleagues. Perhaps not surprisingly, 85% of respondents said they’ve gotten annoyed at a coworker. (The other 15% must either be Mister Rogers clones or lying.)
Nearly 60% of respondents say annoying coworkers “significantly” impact their productivity. And about one-third of employees prefer to deal with annoying coworkers by distancing themselves.
Here are the five most annoying coworker behaviors:
1. Stealing credit for others’ work: 33%
2. Micromanaging: 32%
3. Complaining constantly: 30%
4. Invading personal space: 30%
5. Stealing food: 27%
And here’s where those annoying behaviors take place:
In the office: 62%
Written communication (email, text, Slack, etc.): 44%
Phone calls: 37%
Video meetings: 29%
