💻️ Tech Tip From Kim Komando

Butt out: Writing Tools is Apple’s AI that cleans up text in any app. If that creeps you out or it’s just annoying, switch it off. Open Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions. Turn on Content & Privacy Restrictions, then tap Intelligence & Siri > Writing Tools > Don’t Allow. Heads-up, this only applies to iPhone 16 models, the iPhone 15 Pro and the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

For a limited time, Kim Komando is offering a giveaway for a chance to win $500 for you and $500 to gift to someone you choose (a friend, family member, local hero, or stranger in need). To enter, sign up for Kim’s free newsletters that have a 4.9/5 rating.

📈 Legendary Investor Warren Buffett Announces Retirement

The Oracle of Omaha is hanging up his investor’s hat as he nears 95 years old.

That’s right: Warren Buffett announced his retirement over the weekend, to be effective sometime later this year.

The Berkshire Hathaway chairman is stepping down as CEO, naming Greg Abel as his successor.

A high-volume reader and value investor who famously would only invest in companies he personally understood, Buffett leaves a legacy as one of the country’s best and most well-known investors.

Since 1964, Berkshire Hathaway’s return is greater than 5.5 million percent(!). A $1,000 investment in ’64 would be worth approximately $55 million today. For reference, the S&P 500 return during the same period was +39,000%.

In other words, Buffett outperformed the S&P 500 by more than 140 times with an average annual return near 20% for six decades.

After heavily selling Apple in recent years, the company now holds nearly $350 billion in cash.

📊 Stat of the Day

👷177,000: Jobs added to the U.S. economy in April. That’s more than the 133,000 expected in a Wall Street Journal poll of economists. The unemployment rate held steady at 4.2%. All eyes will be on the job market in coming months as the Fed continues to evaluate whether to cut interest rates.
