✈️ Top 10 North American Airline Rewards Programs
Airline loyalty programs can obfuscate the value of your rewards and can take lots of math to compare.
Luckily, Point.me took its 55 airline experts and created a nine-factor scoring method for 62 global loyalty programs.
It’s interesting timing. The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) announced a federal probe into the airline rewards programs at American, Delta, Southwest and United.
As reported by Afar, here are the 10 best rewards programs in North America:
1. Air Canada Aeroplan
2. United MileagePlus
3. American Airlines AAdvantage
4. Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan
5. JetBlue TrueBlue
6. Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards
7. Hawaiian Airlines HawaiianMiles
8. Delta SkyMiles
9. Allegiant myAllegiant
10. Spirit Airlines Free Spirit
Delta’s program is “slumming” near the bottom of the top 10 with Spirit. Clark has bemoaned the way Delta has devalued its miles program in recent years, nicknaming the program “SkyPennies.”
United and American are the two best airline rewards programs headquartered in the United States.
United and America ranked No. 3 and No. 6 in the world, respectively.
Point.me praised United for its dynamic award pricing and wrote that it “can actually be beneficial to casual travelers – particularly those tied to school schedules and fixed dates.”
